My lab studies the functional role of intracellular calcium and non-coding RNAs in the pathophysiology of cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.

During my training at Columbia University, I have elucidated the fundamental mechanisms underlying the key role of intracellular calcium release channels in heart failure and diabetes, both in patients and in murine models of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. 

The lab is currently funded by the NIH (3 R01s, 1 R00, 1 R56) and by the AHA.
