How to Give An Engaging Academic Job Talk

Thu Nov 18 2021, 4:00 PM

Speaker: Britta Will, Ph.D

Zoom

More

An academic job talk is unlike any talk you have ever given. The idea is to showcase who you are, not just as a researcher, but as a person. Some consider the academic job talk the single most important thing you'll do during an academic interview because the it reveals how well you fit in as both a scholar and a colleague.

The job talk is a scheduled research presentation in which the job candidates share their work with the department to which they are applying. The faculty in the department are the audience, and they use the job talk to form an opinion about the candidate's work and personality.

Join us to learn what to do to prepare and give an excellent and engaging job talk!

This is a private event hosted by the CPD Program for Einstein trainees. Please register and provide your FULL name and complete EMAIL. We will not be able to forward program slides or any additional information without it.
