Kathy Kearns

It is an honor to serve Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Health System as the new Senior Vice President of Development and Chief Philanthropy Officer. My goal in joining this community of brilliant and inspired researchers, students, faculty, and donors is to empower the urgent and impactful work happening in our classrooms and on our benches through philanthropy.

By marrying medicine, science, education, and community service—and doing so in a neighborhood that faces some of the greatest health disparities in the nation—we make a significant difference for people in the Bronx and far beyond. Generosity helps fuel this mission, and I appreciate your friendship as we, together, work in service to healthcare for all.

I encourage you to be in touch and learn more about supporting science and scholarship at Einstein.

Combating COVID-19: Einstein’s Critical Response Research & Education Fund

A Critical Moment in Time

“Our long-standing partnership with Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center is based on their unique ability to translate clinical practice into cutting-edge medical research and to effectively apply research findings to improve patient outcomes. The COVID-19 pandemic, which has hit the Bronx and Westchester particularly hard, provides an extraordinary and critical opportunity for Einstein and Montefiore to play a leadership role in treating and ultimately combating COVID-19.”

- Michael F. Price
The Price Family Foundation
Albert Einstein College of Medicine

The COVID-19 pandemic represents an unprecedented time in our history, when society is looking to scientists and clinicians to lead the way by discovering and implementing new approaches to overcome this health crisis, prevent its recurrence, and provide more equitable care.

In response to the devastating impact of COVID-19—which has already killed hundreds of thousands throughout the world and thousands of patients in New York—Einstein has enlisted many of our outstanding investigators to redirect their expertise to research projects focused on ending the COVID-19 pandemic. Their efforts are informed by and conducted in collaboration with our faculty and colleagues at Montefiore, who are caring for COVID-19 patients with a calm determination, firm resolve, and unwavering dedication to saving lives.

By donating to the Einstein Critical Response Research & Education Fund, you support our greatest needs across the institution, with the primary focus on our research and education initiatives. Your contributions support the dedicated scientists at Einstein and clinicians at Montefiore and will allow them to make discoveries needed to end this pandemic and to provide life-saving treatments for COVID-19 patients.

Thanks to an inspirational matching gift challenge, the Price Family Foundation doubled every gift dollar-for-dollar until we successfully reached our $1 million goal at the end of June 2020. All matching gifts benefited research initiatives. For those who participated, your donation made twice the impact.

If you need assistance or have questions about this giving opportunity, please contact Montefiore and Einstein Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 718.430.2411 or at development@einsteinmed.org.
